Lebanese Soldier Killed in Israeli Strike Despite Ceasefire | PakCan News
Lebanon says one soldier was killed in an Israeli strike on southern Lebanon.
The Lebanese army confirmed: “A soldier in the army was martyred as a result of being targeted by an Israeli hostile raid while traveling on the Zifta-Deir Zahrani road [Nabatieh].”
The number of Lebanese troops killed since fighting with Israel broke out on March 2 has now reached 21, with 15 others wounded.
This incident comes despite a formal ceasefire established on April 17. Israeli attacks across Lebanon since the renewed hostilities have killed more than 2,900 people and injured over 8,825 others. More than 33,000 families remain internally displaced.
While the ceasefire was meant to bring calm, sporadic strikes and violations continue to claim lives — both civilian and military.
The fragile situation in southern Lebanon remains highly unstable. Every new incident raises the risk of escalation and puts more pressure on diplomatic efforts to enforce the ceasefire.
