Tensions in the Middle East have surged again after Israel launched one of its heaviest bombardments on Lebanon since the April ceasefire agreement. Israeli forces reportedly struck more than 100 Hezbollah-linked targets across southern and eastern Lebanon following orders from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to intensify military operations.
According to Lebanese officials, at least 31 people were killed in the latest attacks, including several children, while many more were injured as airstrikes hit multiple areas near Tyre and Nabatieh. The Israeli military said the operation targeted Hezbollah fighters, drone operatives and infrastructure connected to the Iran-backed group.
The escalation comes at a critical moment as the United States and Iran continue negotiations aimed at ending the broader regional conflict. Reports suggest discussions are entering a decisive phase, with both sides allegedly working toward a possible framework agreement.
Meanwhile, Israel warned residents in parts of southern Lebanon to evacuate immediately ahead of further strikes, accusing Hezbollah of violating ceasefire terms. Cross-border clashes and rocket alerts have continued despite the truce, raising fears that the conflict could expand further across the region.
In Gaza, Palestinians marked Eid al-Adha amid destroyed neighborhoods, ongoing humanitarian struggles and continued military operations. Across the region, uncertainty remains high as diplomatic efforts race against escalating violence.
